The Lebed Method is an instructor training programme developed in the USA in 1980 to provide classes that are therapeutically and medically safe for men, women and children recovering from or affected by chronic health conditions.

What is The Lebed Method?
The Lebed Method is an innovative exercise and movement programme using dance and physiotherapy movements to improve lymphatic function, range of motion and provide therapeutic movement. Healthy Steps classes are suitable for;
- Anyone recovering from ill health
- Chronic conditions
- Cancer
- Lymphoedema
- Recovering from surgery, radiotherapy or chemotherapy.
- Palliative patients

The Lebed Method helps to regain function and improve the quality of life for those recovering from cancer or living with chronic illness. It is gentle; anyone can participate at their own fitness level, it can be done seated or standing and its fun!
Although initially developed for breast cancer survivors it is now used for any type of cancer, or chronic condition including MND, MS, ME and fibromyalgia and has now been established in hospitals, cancer centres, and hospices throughout the UK. The unique aspects of the programme identify not only the necessity for correct exercise but assist in improving quality of life
